It
has become a regular scene for the regular
worshippers at the Islamic centre in Kyiv; for
each fortnight does not pass without a native
Ukrainian, male or female, embracing Islam in
front of them, but this following incident was
unusual. A Ukrainian chap with the name Dimitry
Boliakov, who has great interest in scientific
research, entered the mosque, and after the
prayer had been completed he sat next to the
imam accompanied by one of the youths from the
"explaining Islam" office of the Islamic centre.
The imam delivered a short speech in order to
draw the attention of those who were present and
in order to declare what was about to take
place. Moments later, Dimitry echoed the
testimony "I bear witness that there is no deity
but Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is
His messenger". Now what is so unusual about
that?! When Dimitry began to narrate his journey
towards Islam, he said that it started purely
from a scientific incident related to the field
of physics. Suddenly, the worshippers paid good
attention to what he was about to say in order
to discover what guided this fair-haired chap to
Islam.
Dimitry said that he works with a team concerned
with conducting scientific research in the field
of vacuum physics. The team is lead by Professor
Nikolay Kosinikov, one of the pioneers in the
field. He said that they made some globes on
which they conducted some experiments in order
to test the authenticity of a recent theory
which explains what causes the earth to spin
around its axis, and that they succeeded in
affirming the theory. Furthermore, he discovered
a prophetic saying (hadeeth) which is well-known
to the Muslims and is part of their fundamental
creed. This hadeeth also affirms the theory and
is identical to it in context, so he concluded
that such knowledge to be known more than 1400
years ago could have came from no source other
than the Creator of the universe.
The theory, which was defined by Professor
Kosinikov, is considered to be the most
up-to-date explanation which deals with the
phenomenon of the earth spinning around its
axis. The team prepared a globe filled with
molten tin and then exposed the globe to a
magnetic field created by an electrode of dual
electronic charges. When a direct electronic
current DC passes through the electrode, a
magnetic field begins to form which caused the
globe filled with molten tin to spin around its
axis. This phenomenon was named the electo-magno-dynamic
phenomenon[1]. This is a simulation of the Earth
spinning around its axis. In real life, solar
energy is considered to be the force which
generates a magnetic field causing the Earth to
spin around its axis. The speed of the spinning
is proportional to the amount of solar energy,
and the position of the North Pole and the
direction to which it points are also affected
by that.
It was noticed that the magnetic pole of the
Earth was moving only 10km per year until the
year 1970. In the last few years this has
increased to 40km per year and in 2001 the
magnetic poles of the Earth moved 200km in one
go. Such is concluded; that under such magnetic
forces the two poles of the Earth will swap
places which will cause the earth to spin in the
opposite direction. Then the sun shall rise from
the West.
Dimitry did not read this fact in a book nor was
it passed on to him; rather it was the result of
researching and experiments. Later, when he was
searching through the holy books of numerous
religions he found no mention of this fact
anywhere other than in Islam; he found the
hadeeth narrated by imam Muslim, on the
authority of Abu Hurayra, may Allah be pleased
with him, the prophet, may the peace and
blessings of Allah be upon him, said, "Whosoever
repents (to Allah) before the sun rises from the
West shall have his repentance accepted by
Allah"
At that moment, there was nothing between
Dimitry and accepting Islam except going to the
Islamic centre and thus proclaiming the
Testimony, which is what he actually did. Do you
think he was thinking about the theory the
moment he was uttering the Testimony? Certainly
not, that incident was the signal which Allah
provided him with in order to guide him to the
Path, and now he has arrived. Now he is before
an abundant spring from which he can fill his
soul and mind.
Dimitry did not abandon scientific research
after embracing Islam, for he still has a
doctorate degree to achieve, but, God-willing,
he shall pursue his studies with a new spirit;
that of a Muslim scientist of physics who
recognises the Grandness of the Creator while
experimenting in the lab, and thus praises Him.
