By the grace of Allah, the Islamic League for Dialogue and Tolerance in
Spain (LIDCO), with the
collaboration of the International Association for New Muslims (IANM),
has held this convention from 21st till 23rd November 2008 in Valencia
in Spain with the motto “The best of people are those who are the most
beneficial to the public”.
The convention was attended by a number of new Muslims of several
nationalities living in Spain. The number reached to 70 participants
from the different Spanish towns, and from the Americas, Romania,
Poland, Colombia and the Ecuador.
Also, a number of da`iyas and those involved in serving the new Muslims
participated, as following:
• From Spain:
o Dr. Muneer Al-Maseeri: the Imam of the Islamic Centre of Madrid.
o Dr. Alaa Sa`eed: Head of the dawah department of the Islamic League
for Dialogue and Tolerance in Spain (LIDCO).
o Sheikh. Mansoor Mota: Imam of the Islamic Centre of Valencia.
• From out of Spain:
o Dr. Jack Amina: Head of the New Muslims Committee in the UK and member
of the Muslim Association of Britain MAB.
o Dr. Usama Atiya: Secretary of NEMA.
The convention was packed with many activities which aimed at
emphasising the motto adopted by the convention, which is that wherever
the Muslim resides he benefits the people, thus attaining a high status
with Allah, Most High He is, in this life and in the hereafter.
