On Wednesday, 08th July 2009, the secretary-general of the International
Association for New
Muslims
(IANM) his honour Mr. Khalid Al-Romaih received a delegation of neophyte
convert rap celebrities from the USA, comprised of Loon (Ameer after
embracing Islam), Jakk Frost (Khalifa), and Freeway (Basel). They were
accompanied by the head of the Canadian Dawah Centre CDC, ambassador of
peace at the International Association for Spreading Peace at the UN,
daiyah Shazad Muhammad.
During the meeting, it has been reported that the two parties discussed
matters related to dawah in America, specifically that amongst
celebrities, intellects and influential individuals of the American
society. With that, the head of CDC daiyah Shazad Muhammad expressed his
utmost gratitude and regards to the government of the Custodian of the
Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Aal-Saud for the good hospitality and for
the care given to the delegation of Muslim converts, and esteemed the
effective humane and Islamic role the IANM plays, represented by its
secretary-general his honour Mr. Khalid Al-Romaih, in mentoring and
caring for neophyte convert Muslims all over the globe, emphasising that
the IANM bears a great mission in introducing Islam and exchanging
expertise with organisations, institutes, research centres and
individuals interested in Islam.
The delegation of Muslim converts had made their visit to the Kingdom
with the sponsorship of the IANM. The delegation visited Medinah,
performed prayers at the Prophet’s mosque, and therein they sent their
salutations to the prophet, may Allah exalt his mention. The delegation
also performed umrah (lesser pilgrimage), visited the historic sites in
Makkah and Medinah, and met the revered imams of both the Grand Mosque
in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medinah.
It has been scheduled that the delegation will meet with a group of
youths in Jeddah to answer questions about dawah in the States. The
delegation is also expected to pay a visit to Riyadh to meet those
involved in matters of introducing non-Muslims to Islam (i.e. dawah).
